I was fast tracked for a colonoscopy by my GP which I attended this week on Monday morning. From the first telephone appointment with the consultant I felt in good hands. When I arrived for my procedure I was advised that there would be a delay in my procedure. However I was looked after very well. In every contact I was treated with the upmost respect. To the team carrying out the procedure I have nothing but praise. I could not have had better service if I had paid privately. I was slightly nervous when told that a trainee was carrying out my procedure but she did a great job under the watchful eye of her supervisor. The nurse who stayed by my side throughout was so kind and the whole team gave praise to me throughout ( I chose not to be sedated). I was fortunate that no cancer was found and my problem was diverticulitis which can be managed. My thanks to everyone involved. We are so lucky to have such a great team in Tis unit.

Today I attended the endoscopy unit very nervous about this procedure but my worries were taken away by the staff and doctor. I did have sedation and would recommend this to anybody haveing this procedure. Once again thank you to the wonderful staff who made my visit comfortable.

I had an accident (femoral neck fracture) and spent the afternoon in A&E, was well looked after and well informed throughout. I then was put on the Ella Rowcroft ward which was exceptional. The care, the attention and warmth of all the nurses and helpers was phenomenal. Doctors and nurses alike were very kind, professional yet warm with a good sense of humour. They kept me informed at all times and look after me splendidly. Although the accident was traumatic, I only have fond memories of my stay at Torbay Hospital thanks to all the professionals there.

Torbay Hospital is a very clean hospital and they work around the clock to keep the cleanliness on going. The food is better than that of what people are made to believe when speaking of hospital food. I have had my six sons at this hospitals maternity department and I am so lucky they were all delivered safely. There was some issues on the care of me whilst in theatre after having the twins now 11 years old.you can't hold grudges forever and I do believe a certain locum surgeon is who made a huge impact into my future life he was dismissed and would never be a member of staff at the hospital any longer. Torbay Hospital is a great hospital which they are modernising and expanding. The clinics are very good for working to time and you can be in and out in good time. Hard working staff,a lovely bright clean hospital and a credit to Torbay itself.

Kept fully informed and updated about all aspects as soon as I walked into the department. Treated with great dignity and care. My disability was taken into account throughout the process - the banter and humour was great... Even learnt how to take my own blood pressure in recovery, had a great time fully relaxed and at ease. The biscuits and tea was first class - thanks everyone!!

The care and consideration shown by the nursing staff was outstanding and I am extremely grateful for the kindness and consideration shown in the endoscopy suite. Torbay Hospital is excellent albeit Torbay really needs a brand new hospital to serve the growing population.

In this particular department, I could not ask for better treatment or more considerate nurses.

Torbay is an excellent Hospital. Very clean and professional. Cant fault it too much. the only thing that I would say from my own experience during my stay on one of the wards, is that is extremely difficult to get any rest when you are feeling unwell as the ward is very noisy with (many) audible alarms beeping relentlessly. Unfortunately, the nursing staff do not seem to realise just how torturous this can be when you cannot move from the bed to escape from the noise. The nursing staff do not have time to respond quickly enough to the various alarms as they are understaffed and all overloaded with work. When I used the word "relentlessly" above, this was by no means an overstatement. This is not a criticism of the nursing staff themselves, they are all very professional and all do a fantastic job.
