Great hospital, until you come to the cafeteria, where the drinks menu is written in newly made up Maori words (ie "kapati" for "cup of tea" ) with an English translation alongside! This in a country where only 3% of us speak Maori (and only one in 5 maori people speak it! Amazing racial discrimination.

Horrifying way of treating patients. I was trying to enquire into a service. Members of staff, instead of trying to solve one's problem, would bounce the problem back to you. To make the matter worse, they were rude and even said that they do not care about you as a person.

I visited this hospital to see Dr Hakim. the hospital is lovely, clean and easy to find. all the staff we spoke to was kind and polite especially the receptionists. very patient. we visited the cafe the food was great and reasonably priced. service was really good. they helped to prepare our table as I am a wheelchair user and bought our food and drink to the table. would definitely recommend this hospital to others.

Absolutely shocking reception staff at AAU demanding money as soon as we arrived , pointing her finger on persons face and demanding payment , while patient was in crutial situation wasn’t even seen by the doctor or nurse ! We were busy dealing with the patient and wouldn’t run away without payment ! We were admired there by a very reputable doctor , but they have zero respect to patients . They only count money ! Absolutely pathetic lady and her behaviour started our horrid experience in that AAU . Never again will use their services , better to go on NHS and wait for ages but to get amazing quality treatment by staff !

Exceptional level of surgical and nursing care. Very impressed during my recent time there. The reception staff at the Platinum Centre are not at the same level of professionalism as their colleagues elsewhere at the hospital. The food and catering is ok but not as good as the London Clinic. Everything else though is pretty much faultless at the Wellington.

Sadly my review is similar to a lot of the others, if I could go back in time I would rather go to a crowded NHS hospital than the Wellington hospital. What's more important a large sized room or decent health care?! Great you're left unattended big room all by yourself with no one checking on you after major surgery.. honestly for anything major do yourself a favour and don't risk your life by staying somewhere like the Wellington.

This hospital needs investigating . Terrible communication between nurses and doctors. Very poor standard of cleanliness, I had to ask for my floor to be cleaned . Absolutely no aftercare . With the exception of a few nurses very poor standard of nursing care. I am really shocked that this hospital is run by The HCA group .

Just wouldn't recommend the Wellington Hospital. Over the years i have visited family members there on many occasions and i am shocked and saddened by how low the standards have fallen. The surgery went well which is the main thing, the consultant was good and the nurses were nice but everything else was pretty dreadful. They are understaffed and it really shows. If you call someone by pressing the button it takes ages before anyone comes. You hear unanswered bells ringing from various rooms all day. You have to almost beg to be given a fresh jug of water every day, and worse, to ask for help with a shower or wash after major surgery. The food and plates you are given for dinner are still in your room mid morning the next day and they never check to see if you actually take your medication as they leave it on the table so if you are an older patient this is a disaster. i could go on and on. Whole thing very unsatisfactory and when we left pain medication was not discussed and within 6 hours my mother was in the most excruciating pain. Just not enough care at this hospital anymore

Sadly, I failed to look at these reviews beforehand. I would have saved myself so much time. The staff at Wellington Regional don’t care about you. If I could, I'd give this "emergency" care no stars. All the nurses are miserable and treat patients so poorly. They never check up on you and act like it’s the end of the world when you need something. Don’t recommend anyone coming here..
