The nurses, anaesthetist and the staff who looked after me during my hospitalisation were very kind. There is a good relationship and patient care.

1st floor of The Wellington, neurological ward, was absolutely outstanding. All the staff were kind, caring and very professional. They were certainly a reassuring team of nursing staff to have around when having a spinal op. I thank them all for all they did for me. Just perfect! The food was also excellent, which is so important when recuperating after an op. Many thanks to the catering team!

This hospital was amazing. what made it so was the people. Absolutely exceptional, all of them. I would highly recommend and give more than 5 start if possible.

The care I received at the Wellington was obviously amazing compared to my previous experience in NHS hospitals. My greatest disappointment was that immediately after my surgery a nurse rang my mobile instead of my husband’s to inform him everything had gone well and I was back in my room. The nurse seemed a little annoyed at trying to find the piece of paper I had written the number on, as I couldn’t quite remember where it was, so I had to give it to him from my mobile. This delayed my family receiving news about me. I ordered food from the extensive menus, but felt bad that I had to send most of it back, as I had no appetite on the day of the surgery or the next morning, when unfortunately the tea presented so well in a teapot was almost cold. Luckily the previous evening a kind nursing assistant made me some dry toast with hot tea! Maybe there should be a simple menu choice, of small portions of plain food for people straight after their surgery.

My experience with the Wellington Platinum Centre has always been exemplary. It is clean , the staff are pleasant and the whole experience is what one would hope to find in a 5* Medical Centre .

The nursing staff are not all knowlegeable and experienced as promised. The matron on the rehab department is just as clueless with her management of her staff and not capable of leading that department. Most of the staff on the rehab floors including the therapists are not attending on my designated therapy session either they are late that means the therapy sessions would be cut short or would not turn up at all .

Nurses should visit patients a bit more frequently

One night nurse called Anne went above and beyond to help me and make me comfortable and explained what was happening. Day nurses although polite didn’t help me or even offer to help as I have very limited mobility luckily my husband was there all day to support me to wash and mobilise to and from the bathroom. When I had to use the buzzer for a nurse it always took at least 6 mins before anyone came in. A patient needing assistance needs this to be far shorter to stop any danger.
