Staff made it feel a lot less daunting and scary. And were really friendly by playing games and talking during meal support.

Suggested improvements
A better explanation of somethings that are going on (eg bedroom bathrooms automatically looking weigh in the morning meals choices).

Very good psychology and family therapy services. Friendly and supportive staff. Gave our daughter the time and space to recover.

Suggested improvements
Sometimes felt left out of the loop- not contacted when incidents occurred or when rules over leave changed, so communication could improve.

Response from The Sett

Thank you for raising your concerns and I am sorry to hear this. Parents/Carers are now invited to attend weekly Ward Round where updates are provided and shared. At times when the ward is busy and staff are supporting young people there may be a delay in providing parents /carers with updates on incidents. Staff have been reminded to ensure parents/carers are informed of incidents in a timely manner and as soon as it is possible & safe to do so.

Response from The Sett

Thank you for your positive feedback. However, I am concerned and sorry to hear that we did not always keep you in the loop. This is so important. I have passed your comments to the service manager for action. Best wishes, Hugh Jones, Patient experience Manager

Child treated with dignity and respect by most staff. Care from some staff not good, but treatment good. 50% of staff did not treat our daughter well.

What is good that our daughter is able to be heard and learn new skills.

Suggested improvements
I think the difficult part is when kids learn negative skills from other patients.

Response from The Sett

Thank you for raising this. We do recognise that at times young people can learn negative skills form other patients so staff do try and ensure that alternative coping skills & strategies are provided and facilitated with them so they have more appropriate means of engaging.

Response from The Sett

Thank you for your feedback. I am concerned about your comment about learning negative skills and have passed this to the manager to discuss with staff. Best wishes, Hugh Jones, Patient Experience Manager
