Review of Radiotherapy Chelsea
28th March 2024

The Reuben Team are absolutely fantastic. They went above and beyond what anyone could expect from the very best. Their upbeat and friendly demeanor is hugely important and I feel extraordinarily lucky to have had the privilege to be treated by them. I also really appreciate how they swap things around to try and get your treatment done at the specified time, which is really important when you need a full bladder.

Suggested improvements
The pre-treatment briefing is an excellent idea and really well delivered (by Sandie) and well worth attending. If I had to make a suggestion, it would be this: Emphasise even more how important it is to cut out caffeine and recommend that people cut it out and get into a routine of drinking set amounts of water at predefined intervals throughout the day at least a week before treatment starts. I thought I could get away with drinking the odd cup of coffee, but had real issues in the first few days of treatment getting a full enough bladder without being absolutely desperate to use the loo. Treatment really is so much easier when you're not crossing your legs for half and hour before each session. Wearing loose trousers and belt is also really important!

The service has been excellent. The staff were professional and dedicated and I felt in good hands throughout my treatment. Appointments were on time, the team were friendly and I feel as though I have received excellent care.

Suggested improvements
Nothing, the care has been perfect. The only issue is the feedback form refers to the care of a child, I think that the form needs updating or isn't the correct link.

The Royal Marsden is the best hospital I have been in. The staff are cheerful, approachable and knowledgeable and the hospital is kept immaculately clean. The general atmosphere, including the mood of the patients, is one of optimism and confidence. Any problems are met with alacrity and thoroughness. It is hard to pick fault with such well honed perfection.

Suggested improvements
I cannot suggest anything that the Royal Marsden need improve. Remarkably every base seems to be covered. It is a nonpareil of hospitals.

I could not have asked for better care and treatment from the staff at the Royal Marsden. This applies both to the surgical staff and the oncology team. They treated me with dignity and respect and kept me strong on my fight against cancer.

Review of Wilson Ward
23rd September 2023

I haven't graded the last four questions as they did not apply to me or my care. Every member of staff were friendly and caring and I never felt rushed or that I might be a nuisance.

Suggested improvements
The only thing that could have been better - in the discharge area/ward there are only four chairs and even though I am of average height if I sat right back in the seat so my back was resting on the back of the chair my feet did not touch the floor which after a while became very uncomfortable. Would it be possible to provide a couple of chairs for shorter folk with little legs or at least foot stools for the higher chairs.

I have had a very positive experience during and after my surgery at RM Chelsea. All staff were fantastic and I am forever grateful for their care. Most went above and beyond and genuinely cared for their patients. The Ellis ward was clean and most staff were amazing. I will be forever grateful.

I have to have annual mammograms as part of the family history clinic and every year I’m petrified and it’s all ok and they are so kind to my tears of fear. They are so kind and I get my results so quickly. Thank you to everyone there. So grateful.
