Review of Home Birth Service - RLH
30th October 2021

Caitlin was friendly, warm and caring throughout the whole experience. She listened to my concerns and questions and made me feel heard and in control of my birthing journey. It was great having the visits at home, they were flexible and always ran on time. The zoom sessions gave a great insight to different home birth experiences and a good opportunity to meet all the midwives. I ended up giving birth really quickly so there was no midwife present. However, when Irene arrived soon after she was amazing. I felt calm in her presence and she took control of the whole situation quickly and efficiently. Her kind and light personality made me feel like I known her the whole time which made the experience relaxing. I’ve had such a wonderful experience from start to finish, I would recommend it to anyone.

Review of Home Birth Service - RLH
9th October 2021

I had a really good experience with the homebirth team and would (and have) recommend them to others. I felt respected and heard. I was very happy with the care I received. I felt like I got all the information I needed and the team was very responsive to individual wishes. I was also happy with the monthly video chats which enabled meeting a wider variety of the team members.

Suggested improvements
I think slightly clearer communication during labour on how long it would take for the midwife to arrive would be helpful (and maybe whether dropping by the hospital first should be skipped).

Attended a&e was poorly assessed by the triage nurse . Was in severe pain, however triage nurse sent me to urgent care with a 3.5 hour wait. The triage team assess patients and send them to URGENT treatment however there is nothing urgent about the provision of care.

Review of Gynaecology Clinic - RLH
3rd August 2021

Ref Gynaecology Clinic, Royal London - Visit 23/07/2021 I was seen by Mark Brincat assisted by Nurse May Ramos. Nurse Ramos helped relax me for the Biopsy which was so important. Mark Brincat was excellent. Comfortable procedure, good well-needed explanations, plus advice and answers to all my questions. He gave me information which helped me understand my fibroids and other conditions. This stops unnecessary worry and helps with my ongoing self-care. Great care and I am very grateful and thankful.

All perfect!

I collapsed at work and was admitted as an emergency. The attentive service and professionalism was second to none, whilst numerous tests were carried out. Even during COVID I was constantly reassured and the team explaining what was going on. These people are amazing and despite 2 new ICU wards being reopened up over the weekend for COVID submissions, I cannot thank this hospital enough. The NHS has to be protected for the longer term health of the population - Boris I hope you understand this and listen to these amazing people.
