I was extremely nervous with regards to my procedure at hospital and had not slept properly a few days prior to surgery adding more stress to my situation however the nurses were really pleasant and understanding helping to calm me down. The procedure itself went really well from my experience, I was really worried about pain relief and upon reflection, was worrying unnecessarily. The hospital is clean and tidy and the nurses were always available to me. The food is good too! Tuna salad and a coffee was offered to me pretty quickly after I came round. I feel the patient protocol for discharge is thorough as the nurses made sure I had my house keys and medication before leaving the building, I can be quite forgetful so this was very helpful to me. I find it difficult sometimes putting my trust in others especially during this covid crisis, I imagine it is stressful for alot of patients, it is a no brainer really lol, I just wish I trusted in the whole situation more, I would have saved myself alot of anxiety, now I can recover at home and can honestly say I'm doing really well and looking forward to my future with my quality of live being improved now. My sincere gratitude to all staff that cared for me at Queen Elizabeth ICU and to the big guy that reminded me to lift my phone charger before I left the ward!
