The hospital was very friendly and welcoming. I felt at ease and comfortable almost immediately. Every member of staff that I interacted with was very kind and helpful, and made the experience much more comfortable and pleasant

I was seen virtually. Due to availability there was over a month wait for an appointment.

I wrote a very long and sincere review about one of the doctors of this clinic separately. In short, speaking about my experience in this clinic, I can definitely say that I am very satisfied. Very professional attitude, at the same time very warm and understanding. Very easy to make an appointment, flexible times. So if you are owl like me - you don`t have to suffer in the mornings or during the daytime - the clinic will find the opportunity to make the meeting after 4 o`clock, which I find fantastic, this is the exact time when I am ready to speak and see people. Speaking about clinic staff, they are great. Secretary Hannah Matthews, Doctor Bhatia - they do their job on a high level that I have never seen before. A little bit about the treatment that I am receiving - after 9 years of suffering from bipolar disorder only this clinic has been able to stabilize my condition. Only after this clinic I started to live a normal life as other people do. I am very grateful for everything. Thank you for making my life better

I so wanted my recent short stay (Alcohol Detox) at Hayes Grove to work. I knew it would not be some luxury spa experience, and that detox would be difficult and often unpleasant. But I did not expect what I found. Medication times completely disregarded - and when I asked why, this is so distressing - just told "oh it depends what else we are doing". I consider myself polite, articulate and reasonable - but I was made to feel that it was ridiculous to question this. When of course there was a manned nursing station to question, which often there was not. Which is hardly safe.. I believe there is a shortage of MH nurses - but there seemed to be money to refurbish all the public areas of the hospital without investing in patient care. May be fine for NHS/insurance patients - but if you are self funding like me - and unless you have a very good and pro-active Consultant Psychiatrist - I would think long and hard before considering Hayes Grove.

My daughter was a patient on Keston ward for 8 months. During that time she was on 1:1 supervision but was still able to harm herself severely on numerous occasions because staff were untrained and asleep, (especially at night). It is supposed to be a ‘Specialist Autism Unit’ and yet most of the staff had never worked with autistic people before. There was no manager on the ward for over 6 months and the few caring permanent staff were overworked having to try and run the ward and supervise untrained Agency and Bank staff, most of whom had no clue what they were doing. The consultant was a caring man, but when I was highlighting all off my concerns about what was going on, on the ward he did nothing! Said ‘he had no say in the hiring or training of staff’, so it wasn't his job even though he supposedly has a ‘duty of care’ to his patients. No one would listen to me until my daughter managed to give herself a severe burn to her hand and I informed the commissioners who alerted the CQC and safeguarding and whilst the ward was under investigation, my daughter managed to give herself another severe burn as they'd not bothered to check and see if there were any other uncovered radiators on the ward after the first incident. Google the CQC Report of Keston and read for yourself. Everything in their report validates what I had been saying for months. They do not care about patients. It is all about money.
