The doctor and nurse who saw me at John Radcliffe Hospital very considerate andcompetent lat what they were doing. They were very friendly towards me and my husband although he did not have to come but they were very considerate in letting him The only drawback was that they kept us waiting for half an hour before they saw us although there were not that many people waiting in the queue to see them.

I live in Swindon and, in July 2017, following a biopsy at Great Western Hospital of a subcutaneous growth above my lip, I was referred to Churchill Hospital in Oxford where I was diagnosed with a Microcystic Adnexal Carcinoma. This was rapidly removed and four days later I was in the Plastic Surgery department of John Radcliffe Hospital under the care of Mr Andy Pay and his team for extensive reconstruction. Mr Pay has been professional, approachable, and completely reliable. He instilled confidence from the moment I met him, and has greatly helped me cope with a very difficult journey. I had three operations in all, and have been having follow-up meetings every three months, which will continue until the end of the year. The care I have received at John Radcliffe has been excellent in every respect. All members of staff, from reception, to the wards and the operating theatre have been considerate and helpful. The hospital is clean and well-presented, the facilities are excellent. One small problem is the road system to the carpark and the carpark itself. I always allow plenty of time, as I know I have to queue for the carpark. However the last time I went it took about half an hour to get in, and the queueing system along the road is very obstructive. An additional twenty or so parking spaces would make all the difference (obviously not in the actual carpark, but in an area nearby).

I recently attended for treatment / surgery for a melanoma, Mr Andy Pay and the whole team from start to finish were kind and professional. I was kept informed of every stage of my stay what was happening in a caring and easily understandable way. I cannot praise the whole team that looked after me enough. Thank you.

I received superb, rapid seamless treatment following a stroke. The whole medical team were kind and understanding and so thorough and professional that I was filled with confidence, during a slightly confusing short period of time. They are to be congratulated wholeheartedly. I continue to make good progress.

I had my second trabeculectomy operation procedure carried out on Monday 29th October 2018 and I found my experience of the hospital to be very positive and a credit to the NHS. The Nursing staff in the Lichfield Day Surgery Unit at the John Radcliffe provided a very good standard of care in support of Mr Jutley, the anaesthetist and the other professional operating theatre staff. I have been under the cate of the Oxford Eye Hospital for a number of years now and cannot fault their professionalism and care. All the support staff work tirelessly to provide a great standard of care, especially when you consider their daily workloads and how many patients they see in their department. On occasions there are notable delays t bing seen but this is understandable when they are trying to meet the demands of urgent and emergency eye patients This department is a real jewel in the JR crown.

My son had an op here when he was 9 months old, as parents we were able to stay at the Ronald Macdonald house so we could be close to him. The staff throughout the hospital and within RMH were all so nice, caring and efficient. Our stay, although a very traumatic time, was made much better by the welcome we received within every department we visited. I love the touch of having the play specialists on the children’s wards, it’s a lovely distraction for the children and a welcomed break by the parents. I have had experience with this hospital previously too, 11 years ago my father had a brain tumour operated on here and the staff were just as lovely then.
