No letter arrived about my hospital appointment. Letter for pre-op assessment advised me I would be told detail for me surgery next day not inform about whether the starve etc. was given so when I arrived at 7 AM as it is on surgery list I was told my op was delayed because I had drunk tea. My op was then delayed until 5:20 PM and lots of swapping of theatre, anaesthetists happened. It got sorted that was very stressful. It felt rushed because so late in the day. I was sent to another ward but my belongings were on another {} taking peoples time.
Since finding out that I had melanoma every hospital, doctors, nurses, surgeons, everyone has made me feel relaxed. Miami very nervous patient and very scared I was made to feel extremely relaxed and calm. Thank you all.
The staff here excellent and first rate. However the waiting time on arrival I found frustrating and I arrived first in the day clinic and was last to be seen. It's the system not the staff.
Moving between stepping Hill Hospital and the Christie was a little slow but I would have liked. Makes up our admission date the surgery was upsetting but resolved quickly. Surgery went as planned .
All the staff are amazing.
The speed and efficiency of the Christie cancer system has been excellent. Every aspect of my care from consultantcy, admission, surgery, nursing, follow-up and discharge has been first-class. I have no negative points to raise. Thank you so very much.
