I was taken to A and E in September on a Saturday night in September at approx 12.30 in terrible pain. The treatment I received was brilliant. The staff were run off their feet but we're totally caring. I got pain relief straight away and at approx 3.00am I was send to the Surgical Assessment Unit. What wonderful reassuring staff who also managed to get me an electric bed due to my disability. I think it was the next day (being in so much pain I can't quite recall) I was send to WardB6. My goodness what wonderful care I got on this ward. I didn't realise until I had been on the Ward for about five days what a huge ward this was. I was in the annex. It also became apparent that all these staff were totally run off their feet. Yet when I needed help they were always there. From the lovely lady who cleaned to the high up staff on the Ward and the Doctors who treated me, I could not say a bad word about anyone. All these staff were totally dedicated to their jobs. They must be to work with so few staff for the number of patients. I am writing this because of Stepping hill being in the news so much recently. It get me so cross that hard working staff should have to be concerned by waiting times. This is a hospital not a factory conveyor belt! If the amount of people attending hospitals have to wait it is because there are not enough staff provided to look after people. Also they cannot magically free up a bed. They are not magicians! Thank you all those hard working dedicated health professionals who looked after me you were amazing. Having stayed with you for nine days I can honestly say you were fantastic.
