I went into Stepping Hill as an emergency admission on an Easter Sunday in the afternoon, was quickly passed through the Triage at A&E and had blood tests and X rays done, and seen by a Doctor, within 2 hours of arrival i was admitted seen by a consultant and on a ward. I had an emergency operation the next day, my family was involved from the start and kept updated with everything that was happening, and also they were spoken to by the surgeon before and after the operation. I spent 4 days in the High Dependency Unit, then a further 16 days on a general ward, I was treated like a king throughout my stay by all departments and staff, I felt they really cared about me and my family. I returned 5 months later after Chemo for a major operation and again had a similar experience. I cannot fault the attention to detail from all the medical staff and all those working in the background to make my stays both comfortable and as stress free as possible. The food was good ! The only downside was the cost of parking for visitors and out patients, at the Christie it was £1.50p for all day. I would highly recommend Stepping Hill Hospital and all it's staff to anybody.
