Share review of St Richard's Hospital
I have adversely criticised the care received, separately, by two members of my family at this hospital in the past five years. It was inadequate, addressing symptoms and not cause.
However, very recently, my wife suffered sudden onset of severe, excruciating, pain in her abdomen. I'm very pleased to say that all aspects of the care she received were excellent. NHS 111 triaged, recognised severity and initiated ambulance. The ambulance crew evaluated quickly, provided care and blue-lighted to ED where she was immediately admitted, scanned and transferred to Acute Assessment Unit. The following morning she had corrective surgery for a blocked small bowel (fatal without treatment). Nursing care has been first class and she is recovering well. I'm very happy to report what was a faultless execution of emergency treatment by NHS & St Richard's Hospital. In particular Ambulance, ED, AAU, Surgeons & Chichester Ward.
Thank you.
