Wonderful care received at St Richard’s hospital today! I came in for knee surgery under Mr Dodd and his team. Admitted to pre admissions and saw my anesthetists Matt and Cecile (?) who were kind enough to indulge my concerns regarding a previous neck injury and agreed to perform a spinal block as opposed to a general anesthetic. Surgery took less than an hour, and I received excellent care in recovery with Dale, Pagham discharge ward with Constance, and on Apuldram ward with Debs, Philomena and Debbie. It was explained that I would have to stay in as I didn’t regain sensation in time to see the physiotherapist before discharge, but the team had arranged for a bed for me in case of this eventuality. All concerns handled well, and I was treated with great professionalism, compassion and respect. I can’t thank the team enough.
