Injured my knee running on 23 Oct and was contacted by the MSK team 3 days later to offer me a follow up at Mr Trikha’s ‘hot knee clinic’. Very impressed with the proactive approach that meant I didn’t have to go to my GP and wait weeks to see a consultant.
Saw Mr Trikha this morning. Clinic running to time. A short but perfectly satisfactory appt. was told surgery was unnecessary and I would be referred for physio.
Very impressed with the whole experience from start to finish. Mr Trikha mentioned he had 88 people to see in clinic this morning! I still felt he had time for me. Thank you
The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating
As a family we have lived in the area for about 32 years . As the father I have been treated most often at St Peter's. This has been mostly in terms of cardiac and urological conditions, but my daughter was born there and had her tonsils removed there. Also, we have had to attend A&E over the years The hospital has been run very efficiently with a high standard of care. The operations we have had have been effective and skilful. The nursing care has been excellent. The hospital is one of the best I know personally. I am privileged to know that my son now serves there as a doctor.
8 hours and a nurse is now refusing to do my Covid test so I can leave because he didn’t like me getting upset for being made to wait 8 hours. Terribly sorry my crying offended you
I experienced a miscarriage last month which was diagnosed at the EPU.
All of the staff I saw were very considerate and understanding during a very difficult time.
I particularly want to highlight the fantastic care I received from Diana, who was incredibly throughout, explained everything very clearly and answered all of the questions I had.
I have been treated by Mr Z Harb for two toes to be straighten. He explained everything to me answered all my questions. My first meeting was at St Peters and the operation at Ash ford. There I was treated very well Mr Zarb talked to me befor the operation. All his staff were so reassuring. I have today seen Mr Zarb at St Peters to check my toes and to make sure they were mended, showing me the xrays. It has been a painless journey after years of hammer toes. I am going back to have another straightened on my left foot. I have nothing but praise for the way he has looked after me as I know he will again. At Both St Peters and Asford I was not kept waiting for my first meeting with Mr Zarb or when I arrived at Ashford Hospital at 7,am for day Surgery everything ran so smothly. I was able to go home by one o.clock. painfree and healthy.
When I arrived to the hospital this morning I was informed to go to the ultrasound section up the stairs to the right. Following this I spoke to the people on the desk next to the waiting area and they said they didn’t need to see my letter just to take a seat. This was at 8:53am.
Following this I then waited until 10:20 here. At one point I felt a hypo coming on and spoke to Ros, who was really nice and gave me a biscuit and some Lucozade.
At around 10:20 I got up and went back to the desk and asked how long the Q would be. They asked if I had checked in at the X-ray desk and I said no, nobody said to do this. I’m pretty appalled that no one asked me whilst I was waiting what I was waiting for.
At the X-ray desk the receptionist was the only available to check in people and it took her ten mins to find cover so we could speak to someone in ultrasound about being scene. By this point it was 10:40.
We then spoke to the ultrasound and the woman who was organising the transvaginal US was a little rude. She said that’s she’d called my name twice (in correctly) and that I’d have to book another appointment. I explained to her that she had seen me sat in the waiting room since ten to nine and that it was wrong to make me feel like it was my fault for this poor patient care. I then went back to q at the X-ray desk to rebook my appointment.
A couple of minutes later this woman came back and said she could fit me in after the current US. Which was fine, I was then seen and was out of there within ten mins of being scanned. During scanning I couldn’t hear the person doing it very well, and I didn’t get what the notes were only I’ll have the results within a week.
I felt like there was a lack of communication across the board and i don’t think this extra stress was needed on my health (a newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic with Graves being scanned for PCOS), and I was not the only person who didn’t check in at X-ray but may have been the only one to speak up. This is very detrimental on people’s health, I am shocked at the level of disorganisation for this process. It feels like Ultrasounds is detached from the rest of the services and nobody is overseeing the team so they all work indecently rather than cohesively as part of the imaging department.
I was a sudden admission in early May and was a patient for 10 days. I could not have received better treatment. Everything and everyone (staff, food, cleanliness etc) was fantastic in very way.
Dr Barnes is very kind and doesn’t mince words
