My son is autistic and the staff were very considerate in his care and did the best they could for him at all times
Very helpful staff
I cannot praise the team at St Peters more highly. The care they gave, not only to my son, but also to me, explaining all they were doing and why. They put me at ease and gained my sons trust at a time that was a bit scary. I cannot thank them enough.
Very quick and professional service
It was my first time at St Peters a and e as an emergency and I was thoroughly impressed with the whole experience. I am so grateful to all the staff I dealt with and compared to other hospitals the waiting time wasn’t too bad at all. Well done to all.
I hope you all keep safe
Looked after well seen fairly quickly
Me and my baby were put into a covid area even though tested negative because baby had high temperature and put in a room with a perimeter who was self isolating. The equipment also wasn’t sterilised after being used on my baby and then the next lady who came in: wasn’t asked to sterilise my hands on entry. Made to wait in a room for 25 mins past my appointment time without any explanation!
I would like to point out that the doctor who saw my child was highly knowledgeable and friendly.
My issue is with the waiting time. To start with I rang 111 regarding my 6 year old who was vomiting and had stomach ache. They booked her in to the Ashford walk in centre for 9am. At about 8.30am I got a call from a nurse who said that it would be better to go to A and E in St Peters Hospital. I asked why, only to be told that it was because of the ‘symptoms’ and there was no doctor present for the time booked.
We got to A and E in St Peters Hospital and there was one child ahead of us. We saw several children who came in after us who were seen within 45 mins. My 6 year old was highly uncomfortable and we waited 2 hours. At that point I asked the receptionist if we had perhaps missed our name being called out. She was blunt and rude with her response.
Now it had been 2 hours and 45 mins. I felt sad and helpless that my child is sitting here for this amount of time while adults who came after us had been tended to.
Finally a doctor called her name. He apologised and said that we shouldn’t have waited for this amount of time. And he mentioned that we were logged into the system but after that no doctor had been assigned to us. I’m not sure what this means.
All i know is that children are the priority and there should be no excuses.
I think the whole process of getting to the hospital after the long 111 call caused a delay. ...should be made more efficient.
Pleased to say that service was fantastic even in the troubling times
