My stay in St Mary's was my first real experience of the NHS. I was blown away by the high standard of care i received. What has particularly stayed with me is the compassion and kindness shown to me by everyone i came across from the neurosurgeons to the cleaners.
What upset me most is to learn that the student nurses do not get paid for the extremely important and valuable care they provide. This seems highly unfair.
