I was seen in ward 20 for a carpal tunnel operation on 4th June. I was treated with empathy, kindness and given any information that was required and had answers to all my questions. The staff were so pleasant and had an ability to give reassurance to me that I was in safe hands. No request was ignored. Yes I had to wait a good long time for the operation but I had been informed of this. Meanwhile they had a canteen that was superb in every way and my son and I had a great lunch. The surgeon, Mr Paul Stirling took the time to intorduce himself to both myself and my son and prewarned us of the wait. The operation went well again with kindness (and sense of humour)being shown to me. In the end and considering the bad press re NHS I think the care and attention that I experienced at St John`s hospital was superb and no doubt will help towards healing. Thank you. Myrtle Turner
