Auxiliary staff private conversations in patients presence were not welcomed and appropriate. Waiting times fro staff to attend after pressing buzzer were long. I felt not at ease to ask for more than absolutely critical help. That left me feeling lonely and at times in pain and uncomfortable. Little things i.e. pillow adjustment, helping out of the bed, getting fresh water more frequently would make a difference. Asked for more water and it took an half n hour. Asked for painkillers and it took an hour! No clear plan of discharge was explained. No timescale given. Doctors came round and dictated notes to junior doctors but then nurses were not aware of recommendations or requirements. Nurses in charge did a great job, but we felt lack a of ownership/on patient management.
