My experience of the NHS is that the staff are outstandingly kind and helpful.
It's the layers of bureaucracy and admin where the dots just don't seem to be joined up, involving appointments that have been agreed in a confirmation letter but the receptionist doesn't have on the system when you actually turn up.
I am grateful for the NHS but somehow I think the admin could be updated and made slicker.
No real suggestions except maybe the food provided could have been better and the television proved was of very poor quality. However, having said that these are very minor things - I do not expect cordon bleu food in hospital and a television is not essential.
I love St Georges and I am always treated very well when. They are timely with information and very courteous when I visit. Everyone I met is polite and also has a GSOH!
I was treated for my Parkinson's disease by the Movement Disorders Team ("MDT") at the Atkinson Morley Wing of St George's Hospital. They managed and performed deep brain stimulation, which has been totally successful and as a result of which I can look forward to many years of an improved lifestyle.
I fully recommend the MDT, each and every member of which is a highly skilled, caring and very approachable person. They are excellent as a team and I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been under their care for this procedure.

I was at the Atkinson Morley Wing and received great care. The nurses and other staff have great experience and know what they are doing. At times, though, it felt like I was forgotten about, which I attribute to the shortage of staff.
Great care given
The nurses and staff on the ward are a good team. With some nurses there is a language barrier and sometimes they are short staffed but overall I was pleased with my stay there.
I was very anxious regarding operation. Mr Sarsam and anaesthetic team very supportive. Pre and post op nursing care good. Whole team worked well to get me home after 5 days.
