The hospital is a very busy hospital and it would seem that most things happen by accident rather than as planned. I was absolutely appalled to hear the nurse who was caring for me turn to a colleague who asked for assistance with the comment "No, that is not my job, I am an agency nurse". It would appear to an outsider that the nursing staff spend more time pouring over computers, rather than attending to the patients and whenever you ask a question they always need to refer to someone else. I was in the position of being desperate to be discharged but couldn't be as I hadn't been seen by a doctor. It took almost 3 hours for a doctor to come and see me, who then spent 30 seconds with me and discharged me immediately. During this period I witnessed a senior nurse going round the ward desperately trying to find a bed for an emergency admission - my bed would have been available if only a doctor could have spared 30 seconds 3 hours earlier! Following my operation I spent over 7 hours in recovery waiting for a bed and although the staff in the recovery area were absolutely fantastic, I felt that they should never of been put in the very awkward situation of having to care for me and explain why I hadn't been transferred to a ward.

Serious data breach - shared my medical data with another hospital despite CLEAR and REPEATED instructions that I have opted out of all data sharing and do not consent to it. They do not respond to complaints. The place is pure cancer.

I have opted out of data sharing between all nhs organisations and this is clearly documented. As an additional measure, I wrote to this hospital twice to remind them.Nevertheless, in a clear DPA breach, they shared my data with another hospital. My perception is that this was done deliberately, based on a documented history of victimisation and discrimination against me for highlighting serious irregularities. They also refuse to respond to my complaints. I have reported this serious data breach to the Information Commissioner. I'm glad to have moved my care elsewhere, I feel much safer now. This hospital, rated inadequate by the Quality Care Commission- poses a serious risk to patient's health in my opinion. From the top down, there is no interest whatsoever in dealing with corruption.

All the staff have been most polite and helpful and the nursing care was extremely good post procedure, not intrusive but always ready to help. The only criticism was that it was a little noisy at night with filing cabinets opening/closing and other 'office noise' from the nurses station. This was mentioned at the time and the staff said they were aware of this. I would also like to say that my first appointment for surgery was cancelled at the last minute and as I had very few personal belongings with me I was given a lift to the station by one of the consultants who even offered to lend me some money. Brilliant service.

Consultant falsified my record claiming i refused surgery when none was offered. Lied about size of brain tumour, claiming it was much smaller than it is. Told me it was safe to fly so I did and was hospitalised abroad for raised intracranial pressure. Told me my vision was not at risk - my vision is now severely impaired from the brain tumour.

I was an out-patient today; however, we visited a friend in Brodie Ward (after my appointment in Neurology) and found it fantastically clean, all the staff were helpful and pleasant and treated everyone with dignity and respect. It was super-clean. I remember another part of the hospital very negatively indeed in practically every respect when I had to visit my husband a few years ago, in spite of a short stay myself in 2013 which I found perfectly good. I still don't like coming to St George's because of its large size and my bad memories of it (staff and food mainly.)

St Georges is a fantastic hospital treating many patients with care and respect. It has the best specialists who listen and the nurses are fantastic.

I have been to different departments at St. George’s Hospital over the last few months, had various tests and all staff have been excellent, so no issues there. Of course the only issues and is well documented is that waiting for appointments is too long, but once seen all tests conducted within a short period of time%

I really cannot give a complete review of St Georges hospital as I was only in overnight. The staff were great the only complaint was the sandwich I had was terrible but having not eaten for 18 hours I ate it any way. A great thank you to all the staff.
