The patient had waited for many years but was unable to obtain a breast reduction operation on the NHS. She has learning disabilities. Mr Smith and his anaesthetist took full account of her health and emotional situation and the outcome was little short of miraculous on all counts.

Springfield Hospital provided excellent care and support during my brief stay. The nursing staff, physiology dept. and catering staff were caring and helpful. All clinical tasks were professional and competent. The room was clean and well maintained. Food provided was nutritious and well presented. One tiny feedback - coffee or tea was served with the starter course - perhaps better with the main course? Overall my experience was very good and I can unhesitatingly recommend Springfield.

All the staff during my stay were exemplary the level of care and attention from everyone whether cleaner or consultant was excellent and I feel made for a quick recovery.

Springfield is such a diferent experience from a standard NHS hospital - at all my appointments I was seen on time or close to time. in every aspect of th care I received was far more efficient & personal than previous NHS experiences. Having your own room is lovely - although the new showers which you need to step into seem a strange decision for a hospital which does such alot of replacement joint surgery & actually my shower actualy wasnt working - no water pressure

A month on after my operation I am completely satisfied with the treatment from all members of staff (both medical and non-medical ) I have received prior to, during and after my operation.

Admissions and discharge were an extremely chaotic experience and not pleasant when feeling anxious on arrival at the hospital. The room I was taken to was occupied so eventually arrived at another room after a short wait. The nurse took me to my room was very hard pressed with mountains of paperwork. When I was discharged the chaos continued. I was waiting for ages then a Dr suddenly came and did what needed to be done and told me I was ready to leave, and asked when my lift would be here (giving the impression that I was expected to leave in a few minutes). If there had been some simple communication in advance my lift could have been ready for me but due to the distance to my home from the hospital this was not possible for well over an hour. I was told to stay in my room until my lift arrived. Cleaners appeared at the door of my room and went elsewhere. The next patient then appeared at the door with a porter and were taken elsewhere. Communication about discharge time would have saved loads of stress for staff and for the next patient who needed my room
