Due to lost paperwork still no one admits to losing I am still waiting 4 months later for surgery!!! There was meant to be an investigation but no one bothered and I was even asked "did you really send it"? Then it appeared in a folder after I had to do all the work again and still no answers? I asked for 2 appointments on same day to save travelling back and despite promising to get back to me in 24/48 hours they called a week later after my initial appointment then expected me to go back again, so I opted to use a competent hospital. Admin staff don't ever call back causing more delays, nor can they provide any information apparently! A nurse called me urgently and said she would keep trying all day and despite me calling her several times, she just didn't bother calling back resulting in more waiting and still no explanation apart from oh sorry we messed up messages after a 1.5hr wait in reception though the nurses & reception looked after us well while we had to sit and wait for answers as to why they wanted me urgently???

I was put in a ward to recover post abdominal surgery for three days with builders working outside and in the adjoining rooms. They came at 8am and worked until 6 and were drilling, hammering and even using jackhammers. I asked to be moved on Saturday evening and was moved to next floor up where 2nd fix building was going on all day Sunday. I never slept at all on Sat or Sunday and was do distressed by Sunday evening I developed high blood pressure and a rash. I am still in shock that a hospital would treat its patients with such disregard for their health and well being after an operation. I have complained to my private health care provider that Spire Parkway are neglecting their duty of care and putting profits ahead of their patients. If you have an operation booked at Spire Parkway Solihull I would advise moving to another hospital where your consultant can operate from

Whilst the building is a little tired (work to improve this aspect ongoing) I found the staff cheerful, professional and caring. That's what makes the difference.

I would like to point out the poor standard of cleanliness in Spire Parkway while my dad was having his Gastric Bypass. There was stains on the carpet (carpet in a hospital?) most lightly bodily fluids of some kind. The hospital looked dirty and worse than the worst NHS hospital I have seen and not at all what I expected from a private hospital. They also asked my dad to come in at 12pm and then operated on him at 7pm making him wait 7 hours. Now I thought going private was all about saving the waiting time? Surely they could have asked him to come in at 6pm?

Had a procedure on a Friday afternoon. Staff seemed very rushed and quite keen for me to leave as soon as possible. Room was 'tired' looking and could do with refurbishment. It was also quite cold which was not addressed as the staff were rushing in and out. Could not fault the operation team.
