Permanent staff at this hospital very helpful, polite and dealt with myself and others appropriately. Locum/agency nurses not adequately supervised or managed. - One such nurse who did my preop tests wore nail varnish, jeans and sandals. Hardly professional attire. She also went to use a bariatric BP cuff on me and there is no way I am overweight, let-alone bariatric. - Had the misfortune of also being cared for by a locum/agency nurse during my daycase admission. This person wore nail varnish and did not return when she said she would postop so I had to call for assistance in order to get and fluids and food. Having had a regional block on my left arm and a cannula in my right hand, I had to ensure she took the cannula out before I tried to go to the toilet. She had said she'd come back to remove it later and I had to demand its removal there & then as there was no way I could wipe myself with both hands out-of-action.
