The experience I had with Southmead Hospital was a positive one
I only had a consultation so far, so score only based on one visit
I cannot fault my care at Southmead Hospital even though I was moved to Frenchay Hospital later on. Nurses and doctors were compassionate and informative, I felt safe.
When I left the ward to have a CT scan I felt very cross with two hospital porters regarding their remarks to my accompanying nurse, I believe they gave her unwanted physical attention which made her jump too. I was too ill to make a complaint at the time.
It was winter time when I was told I was to be taken by ambulance to Frenchay hospital, so it was quite dark when I was put into a bed trolly and wheeled into the ambulance. After having surgery I found the suspension in the ambulance very jarring and traumatic, I was glad to arrive at Frenchay Hospital.
a good service by friendly staff
I had a lot of problems caused by notes being lost earlier on in my treatment. Once I actually attended for my operation everything flowed smoothly and the staff made it as pleasant an experience as it could have been.
I was seen in the Outpatients department of Southmead which as far as I am concerned is old and grubby not what you would expect of a hospital.
Service satisfactory
Ward a little cramped but staff did a great job despite space and pressure. Nurses and other staff on T ward compassionate, efficient and professional at all times. They dealt with all requests to best of ability. On one occasion, even a doctor wiped up a small spillage because it was the quickest and easiest thing to do. Communication between different staff seemed excellent.
Very run down hospital! Obvious no work being carried our due to new hospital being built
Southmead hospital staff have always been friendly on my visits and the areas quite clean, though nothing spectacular
