Excellent care at all times. There was a small blip with meal availablity on one occasion, but other than that the care was exemplary.

Over past 2 years I have had various tests ,some quite invasive , scans and x rays and had various out patient appointments. I have never had to wait long and always felt I was treated with respect . Doctors and nurses in diabetic clinic were always kind and reassuring. I was finally diagnosed with an endocrine condition requiring pituitary surgery. My experience on a busy acute neurosurgical was very good. The ward was spotless and staff, doctors and nurses , were polite and helpful. My surgeon was exceptional .

Attending appointments, reminders by texts were excellent and not just a day before. Having casts put on and taken off after my operation - very well looked after. Only comment I would make is that when a cast is being removed for the first time at least, inform the patient of how loud the 'saw' is and that vibrations will be felt (it was my first time and it felt weird then made me laugh a little as the vibrations 'tickled' me).

I was admitted to Salford Royal Hospital suddenly after a scan showed I had a large tumour in the back of my head. The staff were so efficient at finding me a bed there & then & although it was clear that I was in shock & a little in denial of the severity of my condition they explained everything to me to make me understand why I needed to be there. I was placed in AEU Ward initially then HD7 after surgery. All staff on both wards work tirelessly to give me good care at all times from my admittance to my discharge. I would fully recommend this hospital as it has the best Neurosurgery Department in the North West as well as the best Neurosurgeons, Dr Pathmanaban performed my surgery & fully removed my tumour with no complications. Salford Royal definitely has the most caring & efficient staff. I was very grateful.

I was referred to Salford's Neurosurgical Unit from Manchester Royal. I was losing sight in my left eye. Mr Turner at Manchester Royal didn't think it was an optical problem. A CT scan showed a Pituitary Adenoma.I was then transferred to Mr Gnanalingham at Salford. He operated to relieve the pressure on my optic nerve. This was followed later by a second surgery to remove more of the tumour. The whole team, during these operations were very professional & curteous as was the care on the wards following the operations. I have since had a course of radiotherapy at The Christie Salford Royal. Once again the staff there were very curteous & friendly. During all the time between surgeries & radiotherapy there have been regular check-ups with both Mr G. & the Endocrine team. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr G. & his team at Salford Royal

After writing my review I decided to read some other comments patients made. It is sad to hear other patient had not had a good experience, but I must say Dr and his team did a good job in saving my life.We must also be thankful to the other staff who care for us which we do not see or hear about like kichen staff who provide such wonderful food. What we all need to understand is these people are not god, when they are looking after someone who is unwell I'm sure they do they very best they can to save people's lives they have a gift to help others which they are doing,do not disrespect them as you may need them one day and it may be them who has to save your life have a bit of respect for them some have to leave their family and young children to help others,I hope you all can understand what I have written and show respect.
