The care in the ward was first class - so much so that I made a donation to the staff to buy chocolate / wine / flowers etc. I was a little sad that no acknowledgement was received. The admin leaves a lot to be desired regarding making appointments etc

This was my first time in hospital.l was very impressed, staff were efficient. The day started rather early, but l could always go to sleep again as things were quiet. The only disappointing thing was often the food.

Thank you to all the amazing NHS staff at the Royal Sussex. You have been so brilliant in my recovery. Long live the health service, feeling privileged to have such patience and commitment from all the wonderful people at this hospital.

Amazing. The care I received from everybody I came in to contact with was way and beyond the call of duty. Neurology, ENT, Endocrinology, Anaesthetists, HDU staff and ward staff just unbelievable. I can't thank them enough

The post operative follow-up care after a day surgery at Haywards Heath hospital was scheduled at the Royal Sussex Hospital. The care and treatment has been excellent but the conditions the staff have to work in and patients treated in is very poor. The audiology booths, particularly, are very old and not at all sound proof which makes hearing tests a bad experience for the patients and must be very difficult for the staff to work in. I understand there are a lot of changes ongoing at this hospital and hope this department receives the upgrade it deserves. The car park facilities are appalling with narrow spaces, darkness in all areas and flooding where the payment machines are located, making parking a dreadful experience.
