Surely you've heard that you need to improve your waiting times, but perhaps also improve communication. Patients are sat in the waiting area for hours not knowing when they are going to be seen, also there is a lot of staff walking around and it appears that they are not doing very much. I appreciate that they are busy and they are seeing other patients, but it doesn't seem that way. Perhaps every now and then, a doctor/nurse or somebody should update patients saying how many other patients are waiting and what is happening/why there is a dalay and how long. Even if the staff only says that they've had an urgent case, I am sure that would be sufficient. Otherwise people are getting annoyed and walking without being seen. Communication is a key, and most patients would appreciate some sort of update.

The nurses and carers were lovely, kind and efficient but are under unacceptable pressure from lack of staff.

During my stay in hospital I was treated with great care by everyone I met, the staff do a tremendous job under very difficult circumstances and I only have praise for all who work there.

Attended A&E in Oct. 2016 (Sunday am). Had bloods taken within an hour but results took 4.5 hrs with no obs taken/updates during this wait. My notes were misplaced and Xrays lost (temporarily) slowing care further. Transferred to surgery ward and waited 1hr before anyone spoke to me, eventually I had to introduce myself to a nurse. Seen by a registrar who was unaware bloods had been taken because my notes were not properly maintained. Same registrar also incorrectly recorded the time of his examining me, recording it 45 minutes earlier than the current time. Whether this was by accident or design I cannot say.
Overall processes and procedures appeared haphazard, I cannot imagine that there are regular patient record audits. Levels of professionalism among some of the nursing staff was lacking with derogatory gossip about colleagues clearly audible to patients. The whole place seemed inefficient and ineffective.
