The RLI is our local hospital and my wife and I have both been treated at the hospital on a number of occasions over the more than forty years that we have been here. Both our children were born in the Maternity Unit. We have both had operations there as in-patients and have also both had many visits to Out Patients and had a number of minor procedures carried out there over the last few years. In particular, over a long period, we have also each attended A & E following a minor accident that resulted in fractured bones. I have also attended A & E for treatment for blood poisoning following a nasty cut and also for stitches in a wound. We have always received excellent care in the hospital from everyone we have been involved with. I should especially like to say that we have also received very prompt and efficient care at A & E - we have never experienced the long waiting times that are so often reported in the news. It would be a major loss to the district if this facility were ever to be closed. We have both always received great care from all the medical and nursing staff and we thank them all.
