Royal Free Maternity unit especially, post delivery care is a horror movie ! I must say I have had a good antinantal care with a good midwife but she disappeared on the delivery day ! I was left alone with rude midwifes who I kept saying to read my maternity notes and how i wanted to proceed with labour ( epidural, gaz method but no cesarean) , one of the midwife said we don't have it , they took it off all the unnecessary notes ! Then i begged for an epidural when i was 7cm dilated but she the doctor rudely refused and did it when I was exhausted at 8 cm , while doing it , my water broke and I saw lots of blood in the sheet from my back . I was horrified but kept myself calm as she could have missed it once again , a witness was present ( my relative) she started to cry as she saw the blood . the doctor quickly said , clean all the blood from the floor quickly ! Finally i was shifted to the labour room , where more than 6 people examined my cervix with latex gloves and I ended up with an infection which decreased baby's heart beat ! So after 16 hours of battle , they took the decision to proceed with cesarean ! I had no complication during operation and the surgeon was very professional thank God so the baby and I was good . However, they shifted us in post natal unit where we were 8 women with newborn babies ! And this is when the real horrific experience started !!! I hadn't had sleep for 5 days because of the labour pain, delivery , waste if energy but instead of shifting us in a quite room where we can recover after the cesarean , we were transferred in front of the midwifes' reception desk plus with other 7 women and newborns ! It was a nightmare some ladies were talking loudly on there phones , the other were watching even loudly tv and when they were falling sleep either my baby would start crying and would woke up other babies , either other newborns were crying !!! Because lack of sleep and as I was exhausted and feeling sooooo tired I started to cry because I had enough !!!!! Everyday I was asking to be discharged but they said until we don't finish our antibiotics we can't leave . So , I lived those 5 long days in hospital as if it was 5 longggg century !!! During ALL my stay (nights & days ) not even once someone changed my pillow case, bed sheet etcc.. ( it was full of blood) ! plus whenever my baby nedeed an injection ( because he catched the flu ) I had to leave lunch or dinner or even at midnight time I had to take my newborn to the uper floor , all way round just to get the injection done , because madam midwife cannot come downstars for no reason !!!! Above all , in this hospital no one can take properly a blood test !!!!!! Every time my newborn had to had a blood test done , they would have first diy with his blood all the hospital curtains , floor , door they would succeed to take A small sample of blood !!! While writing this horrific experience , I re remembered everything again and promised to myself that I would write everything in detail even if I have to go again through the horrible experience I had , this is necessary to write it up to those lady who want t avoid the bad luck that I had of choosing This horrific hospital for baby's delivery !!!!!
