I had a very positive experience in this hospital. After a surgical procedure I was required to stay overnight in ICU and everyone involved both with my surgery and post care was fantastic. I've been to a number of London hospitals over the years and Royal Free is my best experience across all levels!! Only downside is the car park can be busy and expensive, but I guess that's because of the location.

I have only been to the Royal Free as a day patient so cannot speak about what any other experience is like. So far I have been very impressed with the service and care that I have received there.

My wife had our first child here at Barnet Hospital this week. The care has been fantastic. The anaesthetist explained all our options for the c section very clearly. The Surgeon Dr Panicky was brilliant, she was very calm and put us at ease. The Midwives on the Victoria Ward have been great showing my wife feeding and sleeping techniques while keep a close watch on them both. Would definitely be coming back here for our next child one day.

We had our baby at the Royal Free a week ago. The experience couldn't have been better - attentive midwives in the labour ward, plenty of information, and as the father, I was included too, and my wife was looked after extremely well. Our baby had a bit of a tongue-tie, and they have a specialist clinic on site which we were able to stay in and attend, so that was sorted out brilliantly quickly. The only thing no-one mentioned, and we forgot to ask about, was BCG inoculation which can apparently sometimes be done at this early stage. As we live in Brent (very high TB occurrence), this is something we will need to sort out separately. But no doubt at all, the midwives at the Royal Free are absolutely wonderful.

Like all things in life, someone will find cause to complain, no matter how well they are treated. From my point of view I am a very satisfied patient.

The hospital does well overall. The doctors were the only issue. But you will always get that at most hospitals.
