I had to call out an ambulance for the first time in my life and ended up in a&e at the rbh, all very scary. I felt I was listened to and taken serious by the doctors. The doctor (I think a resident doctor) during the night shift, took the time to ask a lot of questions about my symptoms, trying to get a diagnosis. Even though there was a long waiting time which I do understand with so many patients, I felt the doctor showed that he cared about my well-being too, which is so important when you feel vulnerable. Staff was brilliant. blood tests and diagnostic tests all done during the night, referral to a different department in the morning, with more tests, and diagnosis. I do feel sorry for the nhs staff having to work so many hours in a row, as it must be challenging with non-stop emergencies coming in. I can say how we all appreciate the work you do!

Suggested improvements
The only thing I’d say is that all door handles to the actual an and e door entrance and toilets in the waiting room should be cleaned too, not just floors.
