The hospital was amazing the staff were super friendly and level of care was outstanding
First experience in urgent care was excellent, see Dr and had tests within two/three hours, sent to another area, waited about 3 hours, then nurse came and said I was in the wrong area and took me to A&E where I sat for 7 hours. Asked nurse how long she thought it would be to be see l was told I would have to wait because I had not been there long, but had been in wrong area previously. However I waited a hour or so longer then asked Dr who I had seen in the first instance as he was in A&E if he had my results of scan and bloods as I was in some pain and just wanted to go home, he said the bloods and scan looked ok so I discharged myself as I was fed up waiting. The three Dr’s were in the middle of the nursing station chatting for an hour + even I and other patients could have been seen very quickly and out of A&E freeing up space.
I was taken in by ambulance given morphine while I was on the ambulance bed everything went perfect however after being put in a wheelchair and sat in emergency care for 8 hours no pain relief as there wasn’t a available chair learning that there was only one doctor on and 14 people still in front of me waiting in pain for 8 hours I left absolutely disgusting care
I got to the hospital at 9.12pm. At midnight I got told by the dr I had to go sdec, I walked out of there at 6.30am because I was sitting there for all that time and no one got called, all the patients were just sitting there waiting, I’d had enough and went home. I’m physically and mentally disabled and I just couldn’t sit there any longer.
After being triaged and x rayed I saw the dr. Dr didn’t know I had an x ray and wanted to send me again his communication was poor. And gave me no pain relief and did not offer any. Whilst I was in with the doctor I had your hospital staff phoning me telling me they are calling me in to see the doctor when I was already with the doctor. Poor communication in all aspects of care.
I was there 9 hours and didn’t get to talk to a doctor.
The staff and treatment my Dad received in A&E Resus was really good. The doctor Naima was compassionate and informative. Dad was treated with respect, as was I.
My daughter had to chase the doctor for information and updates, the nurses carried out their checks in a timely fashion and explained what they were doing.
Was one of the worst experiences of my life, waited 21 hours to see a doctor then my name got left off the list,
Only one Doctor working the nightshift for a room full of patients, why can a doctor only see one patient every hour, they should diagnose the problem with the patient then get someone else to do the paperwork and arrange scans, et cetera. Absolute joke.
When finally got to see the doctor, he was very understanding and was very helpful.
They kept uninformed about my condition and what would happen next although they were under a great deal of pressure they did fantastically well
