Firstly my "soap box" comment......
I have paid serious amounts of tax over many years, but, following an accident at home, and a visit into the NHS hospital Queens, I can say, I am delighted to see how my money is being so well spent. Those people using tax avoidance schemes, should feel guilty, since they still expect the ambulance to collect them, and hospitals to bring them back to health when such unforeseen accidents happen, and at no cost.
The service is free for all, rich and less well off. Oh yes and "tax avoiders"
Now turning to the staff care and attention. I was so very grateful for those wonderful people that staff our NHS system . I experienced a short visit to Kings and then transferred to Queens for the operation. I am exceptionally grateful to ALL members of staff that attended to me, to include doctors, nurses, porters etc who showed great care, and attention, to my operation and subsequent recovery. It is times like this, that makes us proud to have this NHS system, rightfully available to all, and in particular those less well off. The hospital is free of any discrimination, regardless of colour or religion, where all receive equal extensive levels of care and attention. Well done all !
I had no problems
The service my wife received from the surgical and nursing teams was extremely good in particular I must mention Dr Asfard Baig Mirza and Mr Vinlacheruvu the neuro surgical consultant there professional behaviours enthusiasm and ability to explain all aspects of the surgery
The nursing care on Samara B ward was very good and looked after my wife extremely well
Left alone for hours, struggled to get attention of nurses
Did not receive proper medication at the right times, missed medication sometimes
Got hospital Pneumonia, was in an inside ward with no natural light and air for two weeks
Very good very quick
I was treated very nice when I eventually got to the mru department the staff were friendly and caring and I was well look after
Great service, very happy !!
I understand that A & E is a very busy department but I was not assessed by a doctor for 10 hours. No bloods taken. No wrist band with id given. Pain relief was given but I was in terrible pain none the less. My daughter was ignored at the nurses station and one rolled her eyes at her.
Fortunately, once I was assessed by a lovely, kind female doctor, things improved and I felt cared for by her and a nurse.
Every one I met worked hard at their jobs.
Sometimes, information came late from the nurses but I also understand that they can only communicate information that they have.
The doctor was so lovely and explained everything. She was calm in the face of adversity. The whole team were wonderful.
