Very efficient team, all very patient, explained clearly what they needed to do and what would the next stage of the visit. All the nurses, helpers, all the different levels of staff we encountered, were positive, helpful, and supportive.

I have been under the consultant for a shoulder problem for almost 2 years now. I haven't been able to fault the care but after having injections in my shoulder last year and receiving an appointment for a follow up telephone call in January I have found that they are not telling the truth (shall we say) I was scheduled a phone call on 25.01.24 - i didn't get one - I walked over to outpatients in my lunch break the next day and was told they couldn't call me due to an emergency and I will get a new appt letter. I got a letter a few days later - that also went to my GP - saying they had tried to call me several times but I hadn't answered - Absolute rubbish!!! I needed that call as the injections in my shoulder did nothing and the pain is getting progressively worse! I got another appt letter for 12th APRIL!!! I work in a call centre so making myself available for an appt is tricky but I took a break between 11.15 - 11.45 for the scheduled 11.20 time. No call came - I waited until 13:10 then called my GP surgery to advise I hadn't got a call - Not 5 minutes later I got an email saying my appt had been moved to 19th JULY - This is unacceptable when you're in alot of pain!! i called my GP surgery back that same day to tell them what had happened and they made me an appt to see my GP this morning who has now referred me elsewhere due to the pain and restriction in movement which is now impacting my day to day tasks. I was not one bit surprised that another letter has been sent to say they tried to call me SEVERAL times and I didn't answer the call!!! I am absolutely fuming and wonder how many other people get the same thing! People who really need help will be getting taken off lists due to this incompetence and outright lies - I am so pleased I covered myself this time by calling my surgery to tell them I didn't get the call I was expecting. My work colleagues can clarify this as my phone did not leave my hand - They say they called my home number too - I don't even have a home number! If you get a letter saying you missed calls - YOU DIDNT GET THEM!

I have no issue with the staff on the day, however, I travelled down from Brentwood to my appointment at Queens Hospital, incurring a ULEZ charge, and a hospital parking charge, I have no problem with this, what leaves me very frustrated is that the appointment was totally unnecessary, I was to be fitted with nighttime arm supports that hadn’t even been ordered yet, I was informed that they are a one size fits all… so why did it require an appointment if they hadn’t even been ordered? I was then informed that the supports would be ordered, and that I’d receive another appointment letter!

Suggested improvements
Avoided the unnecessary appointment, as it achieved absolutely nothing, and given the appointment to someone who might have really benefited from it.

I was between life and death when I got to the Emergency ward . From the registration point I can't fault any of the process the doctors and the Nurses were awesome. I can say here without missing words that I received five stars treatment May GOD bless UK government, NHS and the entire Doctors and. Nurses. The three Night I spent restores my health .I walked out the fourth day with sound health and with a good memories of our NHS. THANKS FOR TAKING GOOD CARE OF ME.

The treatment and care fell only in one area. I was left with another patient sitting in the hallway waiting when the attending doctor said to an assistant he had been "called to the wards". The assistant then informed us that the other doctor was "on his way" and couldn't answer as to when the other doctor would arrive. My having a good memory I remembered past experiences which did not have as pleasant an outcome as this appointment. On one occasion I had to wait over three hours for attention and on another I waited until well after the "cattle call" system was over only to be told that my file had been "accidentally placed in a bathroom" causing me to be overlooked. I felt at the time that this was another of these occasions, and was admittedly short with the assistant. I would like to send my apologies to the those people involved. Thank you all.

As a person with hidden disabilities I found the walk to the Outpatients Department quite painful and unpleasant. As was the walk back to my vehicle. I managed this time but have no idea what will happen in the future as my physical health deteriorates. Perhaps more disabled parking lots closer to the front doors could be a consideration.
