Good communication & prompt diagnosis
I received outstanding care throughout the whole process
I was seen quickly and with compassion
my experience on bluebell B was an eye opener. my bed wasn’t changed for 4/5 days no cleaning was done in my bay . with exception of HCA jo she was passionate and caring very efficient. to see patients being left in bed for long periods of time being told to urinate in there pads was awful , having there dignity taken away from them and no respect at all. i had a sister shout in my face which was uncalled for !! the ward needs a total inspection to get the level of care to the level it is required The best host on the ward was vicky excellent
at her job
i was in resus for 13 hours the care i got was good the department was very busy
i don’t remember much but the bits i do i felt the care n treatment was excellent
Not knowing what was happening and how long the wait
A lady Helen K went above and beyond to check my symptoms and thoroughly checked me over. Rechecked a previous X-ray and repeated it today. Explained what she believed was my symptoms and reassured me.
Excellent member of staff with compassion and time to make patient feel at ease. A lot of members of the nhs could really learn a lot from this lady.
My son was referred to urgent care via the paramedic who visited him at home, great service from him. Urgent Care were really good aswell, nurses and doctor very friendly. They referred him to same day emergency care. Nurses there excellent, he was put on a drip, given iv antibiotics and bloods taken promptly, excellent. There, it all came to a standstill unfortunately. Nurses had done all this by 10pm on Sunday night after we had arrived on site at approx 8pm. At 4am, we still hadn't seen any doctor to tell us the blood results or discuss treatment, I had spoken to the nurses a couple of times. Exhausted and needing to sleep, I took my son home at 4.30am as the nurse said he had very much improved but we still may have to wait for a doctor for many hours as there were only 2 on the whole department. We agreed the blood results would go to his gp and to make an apt with our local gp the next day. We did do that but no results were on my sons records? Gp could not access then, we still don't have them and I don't know how he can get them, help appreciated please. My Dr needs to see them to know how best to treat my son and she can't ask directly for them either which seems very odd?
I am an NHS staff in another hospital but I found your A&El EXCELLENT.
The last time I saw such brilliant A&E was about 35years ago. Your nurses, the ambulance workers, security workers were all brilliant. I was shocked to see tea and coffee being served to everyone.
I wish all hospitals in UK are like yours.
EXCELLENT BRILLIANT XXXXXXXXXX
Although the time we sent from arrival to diagnosis was 14 hours we were seen and cared for by the staff. An emergency operation for my husband was done at 2am. The doctors and nurses were run off their feet but gave us time and explained everything that was going to happen. Cannot fault the care we were given.
The coffee and tea trolley that came round was very welcomed.
