The biopsy was pain free and quick. The Doctor and support clinicians were friendly and very professional providing a first rate service.
From around 12pm until 7am i was left without a drink of water or chip off tea despite every blood pressure test coming up very low and they all told me including my watch that i was dehydrated and the dryness caused me immense pain as all my back and waist injuries flared up with arthritis and i also had a slipped disk compressed on a nerve root.
Also when i was being discharged i asked for more pain relief with morphene as the pain was a 9/10 and i had two get a taxi home and as a housebound man that was incredibly challenging.
Other than these things mentioned i was very pleased and grateful for the help i was being given.
It has since come to my understanding that i was poisoned with window cleaning fluid. I could be wrong but i don't think so.
I must give a huge thanky you though and hope you pass it on to the two amazing women that came in the ambulance to take me to hospital. They were above and beyond amazing and deserve so much credit. Ladies thank you so much for everything, you were my heroes and my cats love and appreciate you taking great care of me. Thank you
It was always like you are on your own.
We found out more information from the paramedics that bought him in than from any doctor
Nurse Hannah on mru were excellent
And junior Nurse Claire Freeman
We were there for 14 hours and had to beg for everything from pain relief to information, for several times over several hours before any progress made. There were only 3 doctors for hundreds of people and things that should have been followed up from blood tests were just completely forgotten and there was no interest in investigating my brother’s ongoing pain (which was not even controlled with opioids) beyond a blood test and scan, when the latter appeared non-urgent no medical advice was offered leaving us with some reassurance re scan but no way of knowing what other urgent conditions might explain the pain. I dread visiting this a & e but have no choice as it’s local and I’m not sure how much it’s the government and how much local management but it must be so hard to work there, it honestly doesn’t feel that different to a war zone at times
I was not well but I got great treatment, although I had to wait three days to be admitted I was apologised to all the time about it.
I could not have had a better experience from any one else.
The doctor I saw was very understanding and friendly and gave me advice about my injury and should I need help in the future a contact number was given. Overhaul I was treated well as a person not just a fractured arm.
Good care and nice ppl
It’s very difficult to just give stars. There is a total lack of dignity in having to have conversations in such cramped, overcrowded conditions, and at times some staff were less than entirely compassionate. But it was never their fault… of course there’s a lack of space and too many patients, but the organisation is also pretty rubbish.
