The rating is low for results and the wait was significantly long. I was told an hour but it took more then 3 hours.

Considering how bad my pain has been and the stress and anxiety that it has caused me, for once I felt that somebody actually understood and had empathy towards my condition. This made me feel so much better mentally coming away from the appointment. The consultant was highly knowledgeable and spoke to me at a level where I didn't feel like I was just another patient.

NICU was amazing, lovely nurses and doctors. Consultants actually took time to involve you in ward rounds and speak to parents. Nurses supported parents with breastfeeding and cares. Made sure to inform you in advance for any changes.

Review of Coral Ward
1st April 2023

I have had mixed feelings about this ward. I had some lovely midwifes and assistants but some who started to become rude and petty. It was very unprofessional at times. I am a nurse myself and felt I was not given any respect towards the end of my stay. I had just given birth and had my baby go to another ward due to an emergency. I was trying my best to stay well physically and emotionally while doing what I could for my baby. Ward sister and staff started to become rude. I felt the doctor did not give me anytime or give me updates on my own health.

Suggested improvements
Although I was given support for breastfeeding by assistants please have some consideration for breastfeeding mothers who are having difficulty with their own health. Please accomodate where you can as you are just adding more stress to someone.

I didn't see much of the nurses today but the nurse who checked my paperwork was very cheerful and bubbly

Mr Shah saw me on time. Very friendly and I felt at ease. I wish all NHS staff were like this.

Honestly. The NHS is sadly on its knees along with many other public sector services. My duration at Queens from start to finish was 10 hours after being sent to a&e by my GP. The staff were over worked and put on a lot of stress. Each person who was with me or dealt with me was friendly, professional and went above and beyond. But the service as a whole was let down by lack of communication between departments, lack of beds, over populated and purely too many people for the hospital to manage. I’m not sure what the answer is but it cannot carry on like this. Something major will go wrong. Then what. The hospital is put to blame. But should it be when the local community have been saying for years it’s too small for such a large area.

Suggested improvements
Build a bigger hospital. No idea in all honesty, stop building more and more homes so there are more people who need a hospital, build another hospital.

My mother in law is always made to feel at ease Staff are lovely, friendly and always approach me in a professional manner

Suggested improvements
The only thing I think that I would feel more comfortable is if patients and the people they are with should be made to wear a mask … unfortunately even though I bring my mother in law into the hospital my DAD has cancer and is having chemo so his immune system is very low and I need to be careful … there were people coughing which is very inconsiderate them not wearing a musk ( covid hasn’t gone away ) Unless they have a card saying can’t wear one
