Staff at reception were horrible. They are so careless and lazy. Not helpful at all. Zero compassion. Doctors were excellent once I got the bed. Especially Dr Nish and Dr Misbah. I recommend to change or re-train staff at reception. As no one has a clue what's going on.

Suggested improvements
Welcoming staff at reception.

Waited 12 hours with my 86 year old mother which meant we had to leave my severely disabled father on his own. No communication for hours then told an x-Ray had not been booked even though we were told previously that it had been. Waited in a freezing cold area where everyone was given blankets to keep warm. One patient had been sitting up in the cold for 2 days!! Finally given a diagnosis which was ‘well it is probably this but we are not sure’. Given a prescription for Tramadol. When I went to get the prescription the next day it was refused by the chemist, went back to RAFT where I was told by a doctor that I had to bring my mother back and book her in again just for the prescription to be re-written. Luckily someone else who had seen my mother the night before adjusted the script to have words and numbers!! Tramadol for an 86 year old carer is not the correct drug. Had to buy co-codamol instead.

Suggested improvements
Waiting time between tests and then seeing a doctor is far too long. There is no co-ordination. People are working hard but all that is happening is they are paddling furiously under the water and are getting nowhere. Radical changes to the organisation must happen for the NHS to survive.

I was having excruciating pain in my lower abdomen and was sent straight to the gynaecologist ward. Upon arrival I was told to do a urine sample. (I guess to test for pregnancy) when results came back I was not informed of this. Instead I was not given an estimated wait time and was made to sit in freezing waiting room for 5hours +. When asked if the could turn off the AC I was told that there was nothing they could do about it. After waiting for so long I went to go and ask when I would be seen in which I was told the doctor would see me now. The doctor named Radi Rahma asked me a serious of questions, the first being “am I currently bleeding” in which I was not and the 2nd being “where is the pain” when I let Radi know Radi said she will not be assisting me as I am not currently pregnant and I am not bleeding nor is the pain near my ovaries. I corrected Radi and let her know that the pain as a matter of fact was near my ovaries and I had previously come in 3 other times in the last 10-14days whilst I was bleeding heavily. I asked Radi if she could asses me as had been experiencing this pain for the last 3 weeks and it was getting worse day by day. I was in excruciating pain and was told by 3 other doctors to come to A&E if I later go through this. Radi refused to do any type of check on me, radi did not even feel my stomach nor was I offered pain medication whilst being there. I asked Radi if I could have a transcript of my visit today and her refusing to provide care to me instead Radi refused and discharged me on the system so no one could no longer access it when requested. Whilst waiting to see if anyone else could help another service user was in pain and had actually been placed on a ward. The nurses had to tell the doctor that she is due her pain medication. Radi asked the nurse wether it was oral or anal and was not sure of the care that needed to be provided. Other service users Documentation was left unattended in front of me as Radi was not sure what to do and was left unattended. Overall the worse experience yet.

Suggested improvements
Provide your duty of care to service users.

After 6 hours wait, the GP was treated me with care and professionalism, calling ENT doctor to treat my ear infection. Dr.Wood, was the most amazing person, giving me the right treatment, after 24 hour of treatment I was better. For me A&E at Queen's was a good experience.

Suggested improvements
In waiting area at A&E will be helpful for patients to have a screen where they can see their names, instead of nurses and doctors coming out and call your name.
