We attended the hospital frequently because of my husbands condition. Nothing but praise for A&E.

Our time in A&E was very long. The staff was amazing

Suggested improvements
Honestly our time in A&E was very long. I think for a nearly a 79 year old lady was very long 13 hours was a joke. To really walk out with no answers My poor mum sat for all that time in a chair.

Everyone I came across was amazing in a&e then the 2 days later I returned to the hot clinic and spent a good 12 hours there both days. Everyone I spoke to, even everyone I didn’t speak to and saw working were incredible. No idea how they do what they do, really are the heros of today.

Suggested improvements
Communication of what was going on as I spent 11:45-7:15 in the hot clinic after seeing some surgeons once at 2ish to only speak to them once again. I’m not complaining I know how busy their job is and I appreciate it more than words.

My experience at Queens hospital was beyond poor. I expected so much better. From your rude nurses to the waiting times. I was in a car accident, I got to the hospital at 6pm and wasn’t seen by a doctor until 4/5 am the following morning. During that time I witnessed someone being arrested, someone smashing a window. I didn’t feel safe at all. Each time I asked the nurse for an update, I felt like a burden. I understand the hospital is busy but sitting uncomfortably on a chair for hours on hours after being in a car accident was one of the most painful things ever. Aswell as that , I was giving a poorly written discharge letter/note with numerous grammar and spelling mistakes. I asked if it could be rewritten as this was going to be used as proof for me being off work. The doctor refused and told me it was appropriate due to the hospitals stamp and logo being on display. I wouldn’t ever recommend that hospital to anyone. So much occurred, I am not happy with the service at all. However, there was white lady who was pregnant, if I’m not mistaken she was a HCA, she was great too. I did have one excellent doctor who’s name I didn’t catch, he was black and wore grey scrubs. He reassured me after hours of being spoken to anyhow by other nurses.

Suggested improvements
There’s so much I don’t know where to begin. Start with employing more doctors especially in a department as busy as A&E, stop focusing on criminals when there’s patients who are there with genuine problems.

Me my 96 year old mother and 10 year old foster child were involved in a head on collusion. We were all separated and it made it difficult to manage the situation. The nurses were rude and abrupt in particular one I Red who told me if I went to children’s A&E I would miss my place in the adult queue. I was also not allowed to be with my mother. I continually asked for my mothers pad to be changed and it wasn’t for hours. When we checked heavy blood loss was seen. It was only then my mother was dealt with in the urgency she deserved and was diagnosed with a swollen left ovary and what was listed as minimal bleeding but was prescribed mediation to stop it. I was crated but my injuries not viewed by a doctor. I was in severe pain and eventually was given liquid morphine. But no one assessed my severe bruising and I was not prescribed anything. This is the worse experience I have ever received from a nhs trust

Suggested improvements
Employ more staff whether temporary or permanent and ensure staff know the customer charter. The security guards are overbearing and not up to date on the law. I was told by two I can not be with my mum yet I am here power of attorney

I only gleened information from a call he made elsewhere. What I believed to be true was completely wrong. I felt very confused and upset and still do now, I feel very unsettled. I was expecting to have to have a procedure for 5 hours, for a blockage I believed to be in my throat only to find out there was nothing there.

Suggested improvements
Actually talk to me, not just pass me from place to place with no actual information

In a busy environment I felt the doctors snd nurses cared. The ambulance paramedics were great and helped me to relax

Suggested improvements
At midnight the lady came into A and E with a tea trolley and said patients only and patients to line up. It was difficult to line up when you felt really ill or was in plaster. A little more care there is needed. Also patients carers have often been there many hours too so a small cup of coffee would help.
