Share review of Queen's Hospital
My mum was taken in due to a tia ,the whole department worked well and fast although we ended up on trolley on the corridor and was having assessments out there even speaking to doctors , the care was great and respectful , lucky enough she was discharged with extra meds , she was placed on a bed 2 hours before discharge . Which was great and much more comfortable , the 2 nurses that were in a huge were so busy but always respectful .
the lady taking blood took a personal call and was having a chat even telling them she was at work , didnt wear gloves although i appreciate to find a vein its better with out gloves , she pulled it out too soon and had to re do it , she didn't even say sorry for taking a call , we did speak to department lead about this .
People taking blood not to have mobile phones on them during shifts his to me this is a safe guarding issues they could be taking photos or recording anything happening in a&e , and to wear gloves when actually drawing blood .
