Im very thankful for the care during my stay in the labour ward. Midwives assigned to me were very attentive, lovely, pleasant, supportive and was my voice when I wan not myself due to pain and contractions. They gave me the best support and assistance. They kept me updated and informed of what was happening. Very thankful to Katherine,Jessica, Walter and student midwife Joy. As well as the team who were present and coached me to push my baby out, they were amazing. The anaesthesia registrar who was understanding of my situation-thank you very much! I am very happy with my birth experience. It has a positive impact on me.

Improvement after the birth. My urinary catheter was not drained during my stay after pushing my baby. It almost bursted because it was too full. Luckily, my partner and I are both nurses so we did it ourselves. The midwife (night shift) after Jessica was kind of rude. No greetings, did not introduce herself, did not update me of what's going on. She just goes inside the cubicle- doing her stuff and not talking to me at all which I find rude. Later on, She verbalised she has another patient (she's supposed to be 1:1) due to understaffing. I truly understand that she cannot attend to me all the time due to the situation (anyways me and my partner are both healthcare workers in this institution so we experienced it as well). My partner took care of me very well whilst she was out there, we did not even press even once the midwife call buzzer. What Im not happy about is her bad communication. Being busy or understaff is not a reason to be rude to the patient. She just randomly went inside with a wheelchair and told us to pack and move quickly because we are being transferred. Did not give us a chance to prepare our belongings knowing I still have limited mobility and my partner doing all the repacking of our stuff.
