I cannot thank the staff enough for the treatment I received. My only criticism is that when I was discharged, I was given a prescription which could only be dispensed by the hospital pharmacy. But it was closed. This was at 17.56 on Friday night. This meant that I had to wait 15 hours before I could get the pain relief and othe medication to help with my condition. This is just not good enough. What is the point of having a 24 hour A & E deptartment for people who cannot get the required medication prescribed. To add insult to injury when I went the following morning to get my prescription dispensed, I was told that there would be at least an hour wait. This left me very angry, another hour in pain. If I had gone to a high street chemist, I would propably have had my meds dispensed within 10-15 minutes. Just not good enough. Why on earth is the Pharmacy not open a lot longer into the evening. Or make all prescriptions those which can be taken to a high street chemist, for immediate access.
