I came with the ambulance as had some chest pain, I only needed a blood test and I was waiting for the results for 9 hours. Staff were helpful and tried to assist, encourage, smile. It’s the system and chaos that was quite bad. Waiting time was so long, really frustrating!
I could have come to do blood test next day or they could release me home and phone me next day if found something serious. As my conversation with the doctor could easily be on a phone instead.
So I felt like I just wasted my time sitting and waiting whereas I could have slept in my bed at home instead of ruining my day as I was exhausted.
Suggested improvements
I was waiting for my blood test result for 9 hours, it feels surreal now. I understand that priority were given to people with more serious conditions and the system has limitations. but it is quite a joke to wait for results for so long. It was so easy and quickly to deal with… would be good to improve it. I was waiting because the nurse told me that only 2 people in from of me, and then none, I was the first. And me being “the first” in the list lasted for 5 hours…
