Prior to seeing the Dr, myself and another patient were called at the same time into the same room. This didnt seem professional. The nurse or HCA who completed my blood pressure put the cuff on upside down and didnt notice or correct it. She commented on my blood pressure being fine, I monitor my blood pressure and knew it was high for me (but was normal for an adult) and said this to her, she wasnt interested. I didnt see the consultant I was expecting to see. I saw an SpR clinician instead. My life has been turned upside down because of my health and I had been waiting on this apt which had been cancelled once already. I felt like she wanted me out of the door as soon as I walked in. Was in there less then 20mins and I had to ask a lot of questions as she told me very little. Despite my fears about my numb foot and leg, was told me it would likely be permenant, her delivery of this and how she handled my upset felt insincere. I had prepared what I wanted to say and ask but felt so uncomfortable and rushed, I couldnt think straight. She was otherwise professional and kind but it really felt like she was already thinking about the next patient and I just wanted to sit and talk with someone who could explain things properly.

Suggested improvements
Nurse/HCAs need refresher training on taking blood pressure Patients where possible should see the dr they are assigned to, or be told in advance that we might see someone different. The MRI report should be explained in full to the patient. I had seen the report and I had to ask questions about most of it. I just assumed it was be explained. Maybe nothing can be done about the numbness, but Im now fearing what that means for the future, work, driving etc. She didnt seem to care., we didnt get to discuss it.
