As chemotherapy cancer patient after 5 hours being amongst others which I understand the medic taking my vitals said to me oh you’re not going to see a Dr for another 6 hours. I went to see the nurse in charge said I understand people ill but I felt I was being exposed over a prolonged period exposing me to risk and it may be better I went home. She checked my notes and said I should have been a priority saw a Dr 30 minutes later and had antibiotics

Suggested improvements
Triage effectively

I was there for 13 hours, I wasn’t kept informed, The head nurse was running around like a headless chicken, other staff was all sitting there chatting! No one knew anything, I had bloods taken and was waiting for a scan, but no one knew anything about it, 3 times I asked where I was in the queue and was told 3 times I was second but each time several people were called in before me and still waited for couple of hours! And was told twice if I want to leave then leave, surely the hospital should be trying to get you to stay if you was in enough pain to make the visit in the first place, The hospital was even more awful than reviews I’ve heard about it, and hope that my illness is not life threatening as ultimately I was there to get it sorted but left because people had been there for 24 hours!it wasn’t just me several people left without getting seen .

I should of been kept informed, I should have been sent for a scan, but the worst thing is they said my blood results would get thrown, the results could at least been sent to the doctors for him to follow up! What a complete waste of time and money!

Everyone I had contact with treated me with kindness and respect. Obviously I was scared because of how I was feeling and they did everything to alleviate those fears.

Review of Antenatal Ward
27th March 2024

The midwives and doctors on the ward have been good and very caring. I can't fault any of the midwives I have seen. However the male doctor I saw on Wednesday 28th February in triage was very rough with cervical exam, no warning and kept telling me how amazing he was. He didn't explain anything well and left me on the ward thinking I had a placental abruption - I texted an obstetrician I know for reassurance.

Suggested improvements
The wait times are ridiculous. I waited all day yesterday for a doctor to review my scans with no update. I know it's no ones fault but my mental health is suffering with the waiting and the worry.
