I had an appointment for MRI head scan; all staff were extremely friendly, and professional. I was asked a lot of questions to make sure I was prepared for the scan, and was seen very promptly. I was previously a bit worried about the appointment, but all of the staff put me at ease, and I felt extremely comfortable and well looked after throughout.

Review of Labour Ward (QEQM) written by a patient
26th July 2015

Awful awful place. Noisy, dirty, scary, unsupportive place. Labour ward was a terrible place. Rude, judgemental staff. Nowhere for the father of the baby to even sit let alone sleep. No skin to skin with my baby. Not given a chance to breastfeed until a few hours after birth. After I had my baby the noisy, inconsiderate staff kept me and my baby awake laughing and joking in the corridor ALL NIGHT!!!! A thoroughly damaging experience to have a baby here. Would rather give birth in a ditch than go back.

I had great care from very competent and caring nursing staff. The ward was very clean, nothing was too much for them. Thank you all for taking great care of me.

I was in the high risk area of postnatal care, I was fortunate to have two midwives with me for virtually the duration of my labour - this was very reassuring after heart problems I had previously and this was my first pregnancy. The midwives had a lovely reassuring way about them and were all very personable and caring, I found the clean up after a bit lacking but otherwise my experience was very good - thanks for such great care at the time when I really needed it x

For the most part I felt really cared for. The surgical team were brilliant and put me at ease. The nursing staff were fantastic too. I do have one concern and that was being given oramorph when I said paracetamol only due to breast feeding. Breast feeding was all over my notes and they even changed me to be seen first so I could get back to my baby quickly as, and as I made quite clear I cant express due to difficulties with my flow and prolonged periods without feeding is really detrimental to my flow. Originally told no to feeding I was then told I could but may make Piper sleepy but not harm her. Not feeling too comfortable with this. But I do understand it was standard practise I just wished either my notes or I were consulted first.

After having a miscarriage and going through a very tragic experience I needed someone to look after me and the nursing team have they have been, brilliant, amazing I have been so terrified and devastated but they have been loyal, reasurring, hardworking, protective and have been dedlicated.i thank everyone that have helped me.i would like to thank the nurses, the people who come round with the food, the lady who let me phone my kids and family, lindsy who brought me flowers, the lady who brought me a newspaper ,sandy the nurse i was so scared and sandy was lovely I was so scared of dying in my sleep it's my phobia.sandy is everything a nurse should be caring, dedlicated, reassuring ,hardworking I have felt in safe hands she kept checking on me I nearly hyperfentlated I was calmed quickly .my nurse kirsty who was in theatre come in to see me she is lovely and lovely to see a friendly face who is also every thing a nurse should be.they don't need to improve any thing its standard care.the government should be paying all hospital staff a lot of money they save life's.i also hope the government don't close down a and e it's safed my life and many more people to.
