The staff were appallingly rude and insensitive. My wife waited ten hours for treatment despite bleeding profusely. She checked in at 7am and was in great discomfort but didn't receive any pain medication until 2pm. The toilets were leaking and smelly and scattered with blood-soaked gowns and panty liners. There was urine all over the floor. The room in which my wife waited was windowless and very hot. The walls and floor were absolutely filthy. The obstetrician - Anjita Sinha - had the temerity to suggest that we go home and come back the following day if we were tired of waiting. Seriously - would they send home a woman with blood pouring out of her? Someone in great discomfort? Eventually someone brought morphine but only after I complained and kept hassling the staff. The staff in the Day Care Unit were mostly just sitting around in the reception area doing nothing. My wife was listed as an emergency case but all of the elective cases were seen ahead of her. It's now four days since her procedure and her health has deteriorated to an alarming degree. I'm going to have to find a private emergency unit.
