This hospital is completely inadequate and unfit for purpose, extremely rude and arrogant staff and seemingly incapable of making simple medical decisions, this place should be placed into immediate special measures.
I have been an outpatient and inpatient many times and I can honestly say I have always been very happy and satisfied with my treatment. From consultants to nurses they are always very pleasant and caring .
Thank you
The NNUH cancer care has been excellent. It is the support systems that let down the side. There are not enough nurses or ancillary staff. However, I found the many immigrant workers absolutely excellent. Highly proficient especially a particular Zimbabwean radiologist (outsourced`?)! Unfortunately, I had a very bad previous experience on the same CT scan with dye a year earlier from the regular NHS team 'in house'. They couldn't get the cannula in after x 3 times and I had to sign a disclaimer form. Then, when I got the result it said 'no stenosing mass' on the bowel only 'mild diverticulitis' signs. This led to delays such that by the time I was treated the rectal cancer had reached Stage 3. NNUH needs to check out their 'home grown' radiologists as some of them just aren't up to it, or it maybe that a nurse on this occasion, was stepping in.
All of the staff are caring. They all know what they are doing and are expert at what they do. Being connected to the dialysis machine requires great skill there is not one of them I would want to decline. They are all pleasant and warm-hearted. I feel at times their skills are wasted. When I was abroad the nurses did the skilled work and they had helpers to do the menial tasks. If we face a shortage of nurses management should consider restructuring. You could reduce nurse numbers allocate a cleaner to washing the machines and let your skilled staff focus on the difficult tasks. It may be egalitarian for everybody to carry the rubbish out. Get the cleaner to do it. It would make economic sense.

Super hospital
Very poor care in A & E.
Staff did not listen to me or keep me informed about what was happening.
I was in the Department for 6 hours and in all that time I was not offered a drink or a sandwich.
Eventually I got discharged will no answers to my problem.
I cannot fault any of the care that I have received. Great job.
Although feeling disappointed at not being able to have spinal surgery for the pain i have suffered for a number of years i can understand Mr Cooks reasons to not carry out surgery, and refer me back to Dr de Gray in the pain management clinic .
Dr de Gray explained and advised me with every thing i needed to know about the injection course , and my medication for an appointment in the new year,
i am totally at ease and look forward to the appointment in the new year
Many thanks to Dr de Gray and the team , regards Stuart.
The staff are the tops, it is a pity that the government don't fund them properly and the building is held up with building props!
Dr Seth is a great doctor that gives you all her attention answers all the questions I had in full. If I didn't understand something she had said she would take the time to explain in away I can understand without coming across patronising. She makes a clear plan for next steps of treatment before you leave an appointment.
