16 days ago my 75 yr old mum fell,, she has emphysema and a7cn aortic aneurysm,, when my parents rang the after of hours dr he told my dad,,my dad to,,,,,,"Bunge her in the car and bring her to A&E",,, she's a 75 yr old woman ,, NOT a sack of potatoes,, other than that give her pain killers. My dad contacted their GP the following day and the GP refused to come out,, that my mum HAD to go to see the GP. After 16 days my mums pain was getting worse. I live in South Africa,, I contacted the specialist who's treating my mum for this aortic aneurysm,, they like us were disgusted with the GP's lack of empathy and home visit,, THEY,, rang the GP and demanded a home visit for my mum. After the home visit my mum was taken by ambulance to the princess of Wales hospital,, as an emergency case,,, to then have to wait to have X-ray and scans only to waited a further 5 hours to be sent home with pain killers,, and had to go home by car as an ambulance wasn't available,, and yet they knew that was the only way she could get to hospital without increasing her already unbearable level of pain. My point being,, why was it necessary for me to have to phone from South Africa to get my mum treatment in the 1st place,, and when it was agreed,,"oh yes you need various tests", was she then treated like that above mentioned sack of potatoes and yet,,,, a prisoner came in hand cuffed and was treated and back out the door in less than 1/2 hour,, they weren't in pain,, no signs of breathing difficulty,. Where is the level of care for patients?? This is the 2nd bad experience I have had regarding the standard of care fo patients at the Princess of Wales hospital this year. My sister in law was admitted in January and died there 4 weeks later,, after her death the dr treating her had STILL not read up on her rare genetic condition,, so again I ask where was that Drs level of care then?? The sooner something is done to the whole structure of that hospital the better,, it's a complete and utter disgrace to the Princess of Wales herself!!!!!

Treated in short-stay/ day care and by gyni team. All were highly professional but still caring and empathic toward me. I'm affected by anxiety/depression and I couldn't have been treated more compassionately. Trusted each team throughout the process and they explained their part to me in the detail that I needed; from consultant (ms Nagrani), Dr assisting, anaesthetist and staff nurses at the beginning; to the theatre nurse and anaesthetists at the start of the op; through to the staff nurses and nursing team in after care and day care. Each were very attentive and really friendly. Couldn't have been looked after better if I'd been in a five star hotel and I've been in a few.

Was holidaying in porthcawl and daughter became very de hydrated and unwell. Visited the A & E unit and they admitted her to the Children's ward to monitor her and get some fluids down her. All staff was truly amazing and couldn't do enough for my Daughter but also for me and my wife nurses actually talked to us rather than using the big words that no one understands lol and wa sgreat with Katy (Daughter) Doctor was fantastic with her aswell and soon had a smile back on her face! I only wish i had his address as he said to Katy that he wanted one of her minion tattos (sticker things lol) and Daughter now wants to send him one! lol Many thanks to you all again for you Help love and support during our short stay xx Trust me compared to our local hospital you are all angels in disguise! xxx

They should put inspectors on there undercover, absolutely disgusting that the nurses are so horrible. They should not be allowed to nutse. It's unfortunate though that the hospital gets a bad name through these people when theres good staff on other wards.

Can't believe the reviews below.... I totally agree. Ward six did the same to my mother too, insulin when not needed - left her going in to coma until found by health care staff . Nurses were rude on this ward, sat on their mobiles instead of caring for patients, constantly put patients down and belittled them when they needed help, never want to go back to that ward again - in my opinion they will end up killing someone one day!

Agree with the previous post regarding ward 6. My father was on there and was basically neglected. Nurses were saying he was refusing food and drinks but he was starving when we got there and said he hadnt been offered any. He waa always soiled. I wouldnt put a dog on that ward. The sister with the red hair has a stinking attitude and its clear she cant manage her staff because the lack of respect is obvious.

Itu unit saved my months life they deserve every recognition possible they are fantastic at their jobs..... Ward 6 on the other had gave her a deadly insulin dose, failed to care for basic needs and the stag on that ward were very nasty and lacked caring and people skills. I would rather risk my life then have to go on ward six or allow my loved one to stay on that ward.

Get shot of the nurse from outpatients who thinks she owns the place. The large one with glasses and blonde hair. Absolutely disgusted with her un-professional manor. She spoke to a member of staff like a piece of dirt in front of myself and an area full of patients. Have also posted a complaint in the complaints box regarding it as she came across as a Big bully and not someone of a caring profession!

The Doctor in A+E is rude and arrogant. He talk to my son as he is stupid, really not helpful and absolutely not friendly. I can understand that they are busy and stress but it it is not an excuse to be rude. The wait is terrible already then you will have such attitude after is not acceptable.

Main outpatients department staff are wonderful. Warm reception from the receptionists and all the nurses. Sometimes long waits but the nurses always keep you well informed and chat to you and even offered me to go for a coffee and would come to get me when I was closer to be seen by the doctor as there was a long delay. The nurses in green are as good as the ones in blue. Sister Donna is lovely and also Wendy at the reception.
